11th ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON WORLD WIDE WEB APPLICATIONS: 2-4 SEPTEMBER 2009
PORT ELIZABETH, SOUTH AFRICA
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth

The first week of September each year is set aside for the South African Conference on World Wide Web Conference, or ZA-WWW, as it is being labelled to distinguish it from other similar conferences across the world. ZA-WWW was endorsed as its 'regional conference' by the International World Wide Web Conference Committee (IW3C2) in 2001. This organisation is responsible for the international series of WWW conferences.

ZA-WWW stands out as a true multi-disciplinary event. Researchers (academics and those from industry) are brought together from the wide spectrum of human knowledge: with Web applications as the common denominator. Papers are peer-reviewed before acceptance according to the South African Department of Education’s requirements.

Typical features of the annual ZA-WWW conferences are

  • Prominent keynote speakers
  • Multiple programme tracks
  • Peer-reviewed papers as well as invited presentations
  • Poster presentations
  • Proceedings published in electronic format in the Conference’s website.

Chairperson of the LOC in Port Elizabeth:
Darelle van Greunen (School of ICT, NMMU)
